Simplicity, elegance, and glamour are only a few of the words used to describe Nicole and Michael’s wedding on September 26, 2009 . By having both the ceremony and the reception at the Millenium Centre, an intimate scene was set. Rows of floating candles lined the head table and the marble bar that surrouned the dancefloor. The reception began with Nicole and Michael’s first dance, and continued with savory food, great conversation and a lot of dancing. Nicole through her bouquet from the second floor window, and who was lucky enough to catch it? One of her flower girls!

This past Wednesday and Thursday Soirée Event Planning had the opportunity to participate in Planned Perfectly’s annual open house. What a success! With over one dozen displays set up, brides and grooms were able to gain fabulous ideas on linens and table decor. High Tea Bakery wowed the guests with their delicious cakes and cookies. Our favourite? Almond Amaretto! Yum. Breezy Bend Country Club also provided their delicious hors d’oeuvres throughout the evening.
Soirée’s table was located in the front entrance of Planned Perfectly. Thanks to Little Flower Shop for providing the beautiful floral arrangement for our table.

Soirée Event Planning would like to welcome Lindsay Penner to the team. Lindsay has been working with us since May ‘09 and has recently accepted a postition as an event consultant with us. Lindsay comes to us with a Bachelor or Arts from the University of Winnipeg, specializing in communications and event management. She has always carried a passion for event coordination and planning and has demonstrated her skills of highlighting the little details in everyday life.

This weekend we were exhibitors at The Wonderful Wedding Show and it was a blast. It was so great to see our current brides, meet some new brides and even catch up with some of our past brides. We met some awesome brides for 2010, 2011 and 2012 and can’t wait to get started working with them. Thank you to everyone that came out to the show it was a great success!
As we all know it takes a team of great people to pull this show together and our booth would not have been the same without Little Flower Shop, Planned Perfectly and Platinum Promotions, so thank you to all of you. Also, a big thank you to all the photographers who stopped by to take photos of our display for us. This year our booth was located next to Rebecca Croft Photography and here are some of the images she captured for us.

On December 18th Soirée had the pleasure of providing full service planning for Marina and Wade’s wedding. They were a wonderful couple to work with and we pulled out all the stops for them. Marina is originally from Russia and we worked very hard to ensure that her heritage was seemlessly blended into Wade’s Canadian heritage. Marina had dreamed of a fairytale wedding and that’s exactly what she got. She left the details to us and on the day of her wedding she was thrilled with the outcome.

A few weeks before the wedding we found out that Marina’s parents were going to be able to come from Russia for the wedding. This photo is clearly a special one!
The wedding had a theme made up of branches and crystals which originally came from the invite design. McDiarmid Flowers did a beautiful job of continuing the theme!
The chargers and linens were provided by Planned Perfectly
In order to tie in Marina’s Russian heritage we brought in the dancers from the Russian Pavillion. They performed a traditional snowflake dance in honour of the season and were a great way to start out the evening!

On Friday, the Soirée Team had the pleasure of being invited to an open house for Winnipeg’s newest bridal salon, Atelier Couture. I tell ya girls, this is a pretty great place. Beautiful designer gowns by Monique Lhuillier and Vera Wang and even Manolo Blahniks to wear while you’re trying on the dresses. The owner Christa is a sweetheart and the store is a great addition to the Winnipeg bridal industry.
If you don’t have your dress yet definitely add Atelier Couture to your list! They are located at 246 McDermot Avenue.
